For the fantastical and historical stories that he illustrated, Walter Crane changed the way children viewed pictures. His woodblock prints are a reflection of a yearning for connection to nature. Our inspiration for this pair of earrings is one of Walter Crane’s earliest designs for a wallpaper he created in 1875.The black outlines and solid blocks of colour, silhoutted swans against a stylish background suggest the influence of Greek vase paintings.
